GATESVILLE – Bertie improved to 3-0 with a 62-43 win over Gates County High School here Tuesday night.

The Lady Falcons’ basketball team put three in double figures, much to the delight of veteran skipper Alice Lyons-Bennett.

Senior standout Jessica Breland led the way with 22 points on the night. She was joined in double figures by Ashley Berryman (14 points) and Tierra Perry (10 points).

Satora Swain added eight points for the Lady Falcons while Tiera Brown had four and Tenisha Muldrow and Coutney Winborne added two each. Tiffany Chamblee had one point.

The Lady Falcons took an 18-6 lead after one period and extended that advantage to 33-13 at the intermission.

They led 51-28 after three quarters.
