JACKSON – For the third year in a row there will be fireworks over the Northampton County seat.

On Thursday, July 4, the Northampton County Chamber of Commerce will once again host 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular at the Cultural and Wellness Center on Highway 305 North just outside of Jackson.

The event will begin at 5 p.m. and is expected to last until 10 p.m. Fireworks are slated to begin at 9:15 p.m.

A rain date is set for July 5.

According to Northampton County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Judy Collier, more than 4,000 people from all over made their way to the Independence Day celebration last year.

“It’s strictly family fun, alcohol-free, and there is something for everyone,” Collier said about the event’s popularity. “I think we have found a venue citizens like.”

The Band of Oz will once again provide music for the crowd. Jay Jenkins will be the master of ceremonies.

Food vendors will be selling barbecue, ribs, hotdogs, funnel cakes, strawberry shortcake, cheese steaks, chicken tenders, lemonade, Pepsi products and ice cream.

There will also be rides for children and face painting. A 50/50 raffle will also act as a fundraiser for the Chamber.

Collier noted there will be limited seating and encouraged those who plan to attend to bring their lawn chairs.
