AHOSKIE – For the second year in a row, Roanoke Electric Co-op has allocated more than $500,000 in capital credit checks, which were mailed to member-owners in early August.

Member-owners who have not yet received their checks are encouraged to contact the co-op’s office.

Each year, the co-op’s board of directors assesses the co-op’s financial ability to pay out capital credits.

“This year, the board determined that we were in a good financial position, in which the co-op earned margins,” said Allen Speller, chairman of the co-op’s board of directors. “Every member-owner who purchased electricity during this year in which we earned margins will receive capital credits.”

For member-owners who have not yet received their check yet, the co-op recommends you contact the co-op to update your mailing address. You are also advised to verify if there are any past checks on file that were mailed but never cashed.
