Filing opens for Hertford County School Board

AHOSKIE – Filing is underway for the Hertford County Board of Education.
Two seats are open during the 2020 election cycle. Those seats are currently held by David Shields and J. Wendell Hall. Shields is the current chairman of the school board.
The filing period ends at 12 noon on Aug. 7. The filing fee is $5.
Those wishing to file a Notice of Candidacy are reminded that the Hertford County Board of Elections office is closed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Candidates can choose to download Notice of Candidacy forms online, fill them out, have them notarized, and mailed (along with a filing fee).

The 2020 General Election is Nov. 3.
