TARBORO – Anne Haskins Tucker, 95, formerly of Ahoskie, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at The Fountains of the Albemarle in Tarboro, NC.

Mrs. Tucker was born on January 14, 1925 to Robert Haskins and Sallie Zehmer Haskins in Dinwiddie County, VA. Anne married a local young man as he returned home from World War II. She loved spending time with time with family, especially if a meal or watermelon was involved. Anne was a devoted servant to her community and church. She was ever one to stay busy and learn something new. She was one of the first staff at Roanoke Chowan Technical Institute (now Community College), rising through the ranks to serve as Registrar and Financial Aide Officer. After retirement, she sold real estate. She and her husband, Tommy, Sr., moved to The Fountains of the Albemarle in their later years, where they celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary and where she played bridge, introduced herself and visited with every resident.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas T. Tucker, Sr., and son, Michael Tucker.

Anne is survived by two sons, Thomas T. Tucker Jr. and wife Judy of Greenville, NC, and R. Marshall Tucker and wife Tina of Wilmington, NC; a daughter, Lucie Tucker Bosi and husband Jim of Nashville, TN; two granddaughters, Kathryn Tucker Thurston and husband Douglas of Herndon, VA, and Kelly Tucker Hylton and husband David of Wake Forest, NC; three grandsons, Jimmy Bryant and wife Erin of Nashville, TN, Michael Tucker of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Steven Tucker of Wilmington, NC; great-granddaughter, Hilary Thurston of Herndon, VA; and four great-grandsons, Tucker Thurston of Fairfax, VA, Andrew Hylton of Wake Forest, NC, Tyler Hylton of Wake Forest, NC, and Connor Bryant of Nashville, TN.

A graveside worship service for the family will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at 1 p.m. in the garth at St. Thomas Parish, with The Rev. Jeff Douglas officiating.
