PENDLETON – Mrs. Mildred (Millie) Barnes Britton was born, July 26, 1934, in Northampton County, daughter to the late Gale Borden and Jessie Tyler Barnes.

Millie was a devoted farm wife to William (Billy) Joseph Britton where she spent most of her life working by his side. She was also a faithful and devoted member of Galatia Baptist Church, a church she dearly loved and also served as secretary for many years. She was actively involved with and cherished Galatia WMU and Lydia Sunday School class. Knowing and sharing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with her family was a tremendous priority in her life.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Britton was preceded in death by her brother, Cecil Barnes and her sister, Blannie Britton.

Surviving are her sons, Andy Britton and wife, Terry, Tim Britton and wife, Lynne; sisters, Vivian Turner, Faye Davis and Elaine Davis; grandchildren, Amy O’Neal and her husband, Pierre, Christy Klemiuk, Tyler Britton, and Crystal Bain and her husband, Austin. Also surviving are her great grandchildren, Brendan Lassiter, Mikey and Anndi Jane Klemiuk.

Grateful appreciation is expressed to her caregivers Pat Earquhart and her family and, also, Northampton Home Health and Community Home Care & Hospice.

A private family burial service will be held at the Britton Family Cemetery on Saturday, July 24th, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Matthew Dupuy officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorial contributions be made in honor of Millie Britton to Galatia Baptist Church Women’s Missionary Union (WMU), 1219 Galatia Rd, Seaboard, NC 27876.
