SEABOARD – A 35-year-old Pendleton woman died Saturday morning when she was ejected from a vehicle in which she was the passenger.
Misty Lynch was riding with Laura Vinson, 35, and also from Pendleton, on Big John Store Road when the vehicle ran off the right side of the road and struck a ditch. The vehicle overturned and ejected Lynch.
The crash occurred shortly after 8:30 a.m. about 5.5 miles northeast of Seaboard.
North Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper D.L. Edwards charged Vinson with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, indicating she was driving the vehicle too fast for existing conditions.
Vinson was taken to Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids.
The report indicates seatbelts were not used.
