Melton Fennell
COMO – Melton Fennell, 89, a native of Hertford County, died September 11, 2004, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Menola Baptist Church, Woodland, by the Rev. Melvin F. Ingram. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Wilder’s Funeral Home, Inc., Aulander, is in charge.
Fennell was a retired maintenance worker at Belk-Tyler in Murfreesboro. He was a member of Menola Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jessie Mae Smith Fennell of Como; five sons, Andrew Fennell of Murfreesboro, Thomas Fennell of Como, Mack Curtis Fennell of Durham, Wesley Fennell of Ahoskie and Kenneth Fennell of Ahoskie; four daughters, Janie Chamblee and Bessie Williams, both of Ahoskie, Christine Mitchell and Irene Tyler, both of Hampton, Va.; one brother, Norfleet Fennell of Woodland; two sisters, Elsie Long of Como and Lettie Parker of Courtland; 29 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Ricky M. Tann Sr.
AHOSKIE – Ricky M. Tann Sr., 49, died September 12, 2004 at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Pleasant Plains Baptist Church, Ahoskie, by the Rev. Shirley Johnson. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Reynolds Funeral Home, Inc., Ahoskie, is in charge.
Tann was a member of Pleasant Plains Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Tonie Worthington Tann; a son, Ricky Tann Jr.; a daughter, Rickeena W. Tann, both of Ahoskie; three brothers, William Robert Tann and Thomas David Tann, both of Ahoskie and Alfred Carl Tann of Cofield; and two sisters, Hannah Wheeler and Barbara Jarrett, both of Ahoskie.

COLERAIN – Willie Perry, died September 12, 2004, at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.
