WINTON – A 66-year-old Murfreesboro man is free on bond after being charged with taking indecent liberties with a minor.

Kinchen Lee Sr. of Powell Road surrendered to the Mecklenburg County (NC) Sheriff’s Office last week after learning that he was wanted for questioning by Hertford County Sheriff’s Lt. Marty Davis and Dep. Montez Bishop.

Lee was transported back to Hertford County on Oct. 5 where he posted a $5,000 bond and was released on Oct. 7.

According to Hertford County Sheriff Juan Vaughan, the alleged incident between Lee and the minor child occurred on Sunday, Oct. 3. The Sheriff said Lee then apparently left the area and went to Charlotte.

Lee’s first court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 19.

The Sheriff’s said the incident remains under investigation by Lt. Davis and Dep. Bishop.
