Melba B. Daniels

MERRY HILL – Melba Blalock Daniels, 82, a native of Wilson County, died December 1, 2004, at her home.

A graveside funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hillcrest Cemetery, Colerain, by the Rev. Russell Blanchard. Walker Funeral Home, Windsor, is in charge. Memorial gifts may be made to University Health Care Hospice, P.O. Box 72, Ahoskie, NC 27910.

Mrs. Daniels was a homemaker and a member of Riverside Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Jay G. Daniels of Merry Hill; three sons, Steven Daniels of Washington, Emmett Daniels of Gatesville and Jeffery Daniels of Apex; one brother, Ralph Blalock of Lucama; two sisters, Louise Bradley of Wilson and Frances Rodwell of Rocky Mount; and five grandchildren.

Queen McLemore

LITTLETON – Queen Esther McLemore, 75, died November 28, 2004 at Halifax Regional Medical Center, Roanoke Rapids.

A funeral was conducted Friday at the chapel of H.D. Pope Funeral Home by the Rev. D. Williams. Burial was in Crestview Memorial Cemetery.

Ethel Curtis

Ethel Mae Wimberley Herndon Curtis, age 85, of Ahoskie, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2004, at home, after a long battle with cancer.

Mrs. Curtis was born May 18, 1919 in Apex, NC to Cordie Mason Wimberley and Marvin Wimberley. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Stacy Herndon in 1967 and her second husband, Stuart A. Curtis in March of 2004.

She is survived by her sister, Emma Ruth Walton of Apex; sisters-in-law, Ruby Kelly and Reba Wilkinson, both of Apex and Anne King of Columbia, SC; brother-in-law, Dallas Herndon and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, between 7 and 8 p.m. Saturday. Services will be held at the graveside at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Olive Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Apex.

Jeffro Harvey

WELDON – Jeffro Harvey, 38, died November 25, 2004 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on Saturday with the funeral service beginning at 12 noon in the Roanoke Rapids Chapel of H.D. Pope Funeral Home by the Rev. Jarvis Brown. Interment will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Weldon.

Aileen Manley

AHOSKIE – Aileen Manley, died December 2, 2004 at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Reynolds Funeral Home, Inc., Ahoskie, is in charge.

William Riddick

SALISBURY, Md. – William C. &uot;Billy&uot; Riddick, died November 26, 2004, at Peninsula Medical Center.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday at Piney Wood Chapel Baptist Church, Ahoskie, by the Rev. Wallace Wynn. Burial will be in the Smith family cemetery, Ahoskie. The Riddick family will be receiving family and friends from 7 a.m. to 12 noon Sunday morning at Ahoskie Inn in the Potecasi-Wiccacon Room. Reynolds Funeral Home, Inc., Ahoskie, is in charge.

Pearleen Parker

GATES – Pearleen Parker, 86, a native of Gates, died December 1, 2004 at Louise Obici Hospital, Suffolk, Va.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Stoney Branch Baptist Church, Gates, by the Rev. Michael Holloman. Burial will be in the Parker family cemetery. Hunter’s Funeral Home, Inc., Ahoskie, is in charge.

Survivors include five sons, Harry Parker Jr. of Sedley, Va., Frederick Parker of Atlantic City, N.J., Jerry Q. Parker Sr. of Suffolk, Ronald T. Parker of Gates and Dennis T. Parker of Franklin; five daughters, Jearleen Warren of Franklin, Connie Payne and Barbara Gatling, both of Suffolk, Faye Wood of Courtland and Nora Boone of Gates; two sisters, Dessie Costen of Suffolk and Mary Lois Boone of Gates; 86 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Mackenzie Gatling

AHOSKIE – Mackenzie Taylor &uot;E.B.&uot; Gatling, 56, a native of Hertford County, died December 1, 2004 at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Hunter’s Funeral Home Chapel, Ahoskie, by the Rev. Lenward Gatling. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send all donations payable to Ashley and Asha Gatling at Hunter’s Funeral Home, PO Box 628, Ahoskie, NC 27910.

Survivors include two daughters, Ashley and Asha Gatling, both of the home.
