Leading by a narrow 28-25 margin midway through the fourth quarter, Lawrence went on a 14-0 run to seal the victory.

White started the spurt by hitting both ends of a one-plus-one at the 4:09 mark of the fourth quarter. Her free throws were followed by back-to-back hoops from Jane Perry and Jessica Johnston that pushed the Lawrence advantage to 36-27.

Senior guard Catherine Outten hit a three-pointer at the 2:45 mark that pushed the Lawrence lead to double digits (39-27) and all but sealed the Lady Warriors’ upset win.

Following a Kate Gillam bucket at the two-minute mark, White buried three free throws to give Lawrence a 44-27 lead from which they never looked back.

The lead was in the hands of the Lawrence ladies from the beginning. Outten hit a three-pointer and White hit a bucket to give the Lady Warriors a 5-0 lead.

Rocky Mount cut the lead down to 5-3 when Cade Thorne hit a hoop and Catherine Woodard followed with a free throw.

Perry and White then hit consecutive baskets to give Lawrence a 9-3 lead late in the first quarter.

Brooke Pearsall and Woodard hit back-to-back hoops to open the second quarter and get the Lady Eagles within one (10-9).

White then hit two straight hoops and a pair of free throws to push the lead back to 16-9 before Outten’s hoop made it 18-9 just before the half.

Gillam started the third quarter with a hoop at the 5:04 mark that sparked a 5-2 Lady Warrior run that pushed the Lawrence lead to 25-15.

A three-pointer from Woodard and a hoop by Elaine Holland cut the lead to 25-20. White’s bucket before a Rachel Felton free throw made the lead 27-21 at the end of three quarters.
