Two hurt in Bertie wreck

MERRY HILL – Two Virginia men are listed in fair condition at Pitt Memorial Hospital following a single vehicle wreck near here Saturday.
According to a report filed by North Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper J.W. Lamb, Jordan Thomas Harris, 28 of Chesapeake, Va., was operating a 2005 Ford pick-up truck traveling north on NC 45 at approximately 5:10 p.m. The truck ran off the right side of the road and overturned, coming to rest on its roof.
Harris was transported to Pitt Memorial, as was a passenger, Seth McDonald, 16, also of Chesapeake, Va. The medical status of a second passenger, 15-year-old Tom Murphy, also of Chesapeake, is unknown.
The accident occurred near the intersection of NC 45 and the Winston Farm Road.
Charges are pending.
