James Bond Sr.
WINDSOR n James Bond Sr., 68, died April 27, 2006 at St. Agnes Hospice Hospital, Philadelphia, Pa.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pleasant Oak Baptist Church, Windsor. A visitation will be conducted from 7-8 p.m. Friday at Gilliam Funeral Home Chapel, Windsor. Burial will be in Ashland Church Cemetery, Merry Hill.
Jessomia Pinkney
ROCKY MOUNT n Jessomia Pinkney, 51, died May 1, 2006 at Nash General Hospital.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete. H.D. Pope Funeral Home, Rocky Mount, is in charge.
Clarence D. Parker
AHOSKIE – Clarence “Crook” David Parker, 58, a native of Hertford County, died May 1, 2006 at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.
Parker was a member of New Ahoskie Baptist Church.
He was formally employed with Roanoke-Chowan Hospital as an orderly.
Survivors include his wife, Alma Parker of Ahoskie; two daughters, Treva Parker and Sabrina Parker, both of Ahoskie; one son, Terrance Parker of Fayetteville; his mother, Alberta Newsome of Ahoskie; three brothers, Troy Parker Sr. of Ahoskie, Kelvin Newsome of Fairburn, GA, and Dallas Newsome of Alexandria, VA; one sister, Vernade Daughtry of Ahoskie; and six grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at New Ahoskie Baptist Church by the Rev. Patrick Young.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Ahoskie.
Hunter’s Funeral Home, Inc., Ahoskie is charge.
Linda Pollard
AHOSKIE – Linda Lou Souder Pollard, 50, a native of Beckley, W.Va., died May 1, 2006.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Pinewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Greenville.
Alma G. Allen
WINDSOR n A funeral for Alma Gray Allen, 92, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Indian Woods Baptist Church, Windsor. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Hannah Rives
Hannah Rea Wiggins Rives, 82, died April 16, 2006 in the Pulaski Community Hospital. She was born in Murfreesboro, NC to the late Isaac and Ellen Vaughan Wiggins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Royston T. Rives, a brother, Vaughan Wiggins, and a sister, Mary Forbes Wiggins Twiddy. She is survived by two daughters, Hannah Rea Menektos, Sparks, NV and Mary Ellen Rivers, Richmond, VA, and a sister, Gertrude Parker, Union.
She graduated from Murfreesboro High School and attended Chowan College. When her family settled in Pulaski, VA in 1964 she joined the Christ Episcopal Church where she was an active member. She was an outstanding volunteer for 38 years at Pulaski Community Hospital.
A memorial service was held Saturday, April 22, 2006, from the Christ Episcopal Church at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Vicki Houk officiating. In lieu of flowers the family wishes that memorials be made to the Christ Episcopal Church or to the charity of one’s choice.

Ecky Robert Sessoms
Ecky Robert Sessoms, 84, of Wilmington, NC, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center, Wilmington.
He was born August 20, 1921, in Ahoskie, North Carolina, son of the late Edgar Walter Sessoms and Patty Sessoms. Mr. Sessoms was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-six years, Mary B. Sessoms in August 2005.
Mr. Sessoms was a member of Scotts Hill Baptist Church. He and his wife owned and operated the Surfside Motor Lodge in Carolina Beach for twenty-five years before retiring to Scotts Hill. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
Surviving are daughters, Carol S. Ford and husband John, and Sue Whitmore and husband Joey; grandchildren, Shane Tregembo and Hunter Ford; a great-granddaughter, Kelsey Royce Tregembo; a sister, Maidie McKinnon and husband Mac of VA; and beloved dog, Max.
Anyone wishing to pay their respects to Mr. Sessoms may visit at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel on Wednesday afternoon and evening. The family will receive friends at home following the service.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 4, 2006 at Oakdale Cemetery by the Rev. Phil Ortego.
Memorial gifts may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center, 1406 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.

WASHINGTON, D.C. n Symera Pugh Cherry, a native of Bertie County, died May 1, 2006 at Northwest Health Care Facility.
