Northampton-East falls

CREEKSVILLE – James Long scored 12 points and Deshaun Vick added 10, but it wasn’t enough as Northampton-East fell to Louisburg, 52-40, here Tuesday night.
The teams traded baskets in the first quarter with Louisburg clutching a one-point advantage (9-8) going into the second.
The Warriors got two buckets from Rasool Kearney and a trey from Daryl Ware to extend their lead to eight (16-8).
Baskets by Long, Corey Neal and Darrell Boone pulled East within two. Louisburg would score three more baskets before the half while East got only one foul shot as the Warriors pulled ahead 22-15.
Long scored two baskets at the top of the third to get East within three.
Louisburg maintained their lead over the next four minutes, but a six-point spurt late in the quarter gave the Warriors a 10-point lead (36-26).
Boone split the defenders for a bucket just before the buzzer, cutting the lead to single digits.
Louisburg pulled away in the final minutes, taking the 52-40 win.
Lee Person led Louisburg with 14 points followed by Rasool Kearney and Dominique Perry with nine points apiece.
The junior varsity Warriors were also victorious as they took a 78-60 win over East.
The Rams were led by Rudolph Bishop with 18 points and Charles Cumbo with 11 points.
