Robbery suspect arrested

AHOSKIE – An alleged robbery at gunpoint has resulted in an arrest.
Lamont Cornelius Langford, 26, of 517 North Catherine Creek Road was arrested Jan. 23 by the Ahoskie Police Department.
APD Chief Troy Fitzhugh said Langford was charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Langford was jailed under a $75,000 cash bond.
Chief Fitzhugh said the incident took place at a Lloyd Street residence where Langford allegedly robbed two victims by using a handgun.
One of the victims was reportedly robbed of $300 in cash.
A third person was reportedly at the residence just prior to Langford entering the home. That person rode away on a bicycle. Chief Fitzhugh said an investigation continues in an attempt to identify the third person.
