WINDSOR – The manager of the Burger King here has been arrested on charges of larceny by an employee.
Angela Emmett Wynn, 42, of Windsor, was named the store’s manager in mid-December 2007, but has reportedly been at that location since the store was built over 10 years ago.
According to a report by the Windsor Police Department (WPD), Wynn allegedly began stealing the deposits she was responsible for, continuing through the middle of January.
&uot; The company’s bookkeeping found that there were deposit slips that had been turned in by Wynn, but no money that had been deposited in the bank account,&uot; stated Chief Rodney Hoggard of the WPD.
According to Hoggard, the owner of the Burger King franchise, Michael Peters of Greenville, and Ahoskie’s Audrey Fountain, the franchise’s Director of Operations, brought the case to the attention of the police.
&uot; They did the majority of the investigation themselves,&uot; Hoggard acknowledged.
Money allegedly taken during the period is estimated to be in excess of $15,000.
WPD Officer Matthew Roebuck arrested Wynn on January 25 and her bond was set at $7,500 secured.
Her first court appearance was January 30.
