AHOSKIE – Ridgecroft School took a 9-0 victory over county rival HCHS last week.

The Lady Rams won over Hertford County to improve to 1-0 for the season.

Ridgecroft number one seed Tayler Smith started the contest well for the Lady Rams, securing a 10-1 victory over Brittany Odom. In the battle of number two seeds, Caroline Bowman grabbed a 10-3 win over Chelsie Malone.

Taylor Futrell defeated Bria Freeman 10-0 in the matchup of number three seeds while fourth-seeded Erin Riddick claimed a 10-6 victory.

Ridgecroft continued their singles victories when fifth seed Alex Riddick defeated Yvonne Harris 10-0 and sixth-seeded Katie Futrell topped Jasmine Slade by the same count.

Ridgecroft’s number one doubles team of Smith and Bowman defeated Odom and Malone 10-4 while the second-seeded team of Futrell and Riddick took a 10-2 win over Freeman and Rushing.

The final win came when Alex Riddick and Roxie Daniels defeated Tyler Christian and Mercedes Duck.

The win boosted Ridgecroft to 1-0.
