James L. Bennett, 66, of Ahoskie died Monday, February 2, 2009 at Roanoke Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.
A native of Gates County, he was a member of Lebanon Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Bennett was a retired logger for Boone Logging.
Survivors include one daughter, Bonita K. Moore of Plainfield, NJ; one brother, Joe Bennett III of Middletown, CT; and two sisters, Lee Holmes and Joan Caine, both of Waterbury, CT.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7 at Lebanon Grove Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Williams officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
