Ora Peterson, 87, died Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Roanoke Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.
A native of Hertford County, she was a member of Elm Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She was retired from Hertford County Schools as a cook.
Survivors include four sons, Henry Peterson of Landover, MD, Joseph Peterson Jr. of Greenville, William Peterson of Harker Heights, TX and Herbert Peterson of Ahoskie; two daughters, Shirley Sheppard and Annie Bethel, both of Ahoskie; one brother, Sylvester Early of Rich Square; one sister, Lula Beverly of Ahoskie; 13 grandchildren, 29
great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 17. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
