Ruth Simmons Eure Swift, 80, of Brookbank Road, Greensboro, died Saturday, May 23, 2009 at Guilford Health Care, Greensboro.
A native of Iowa, she was a retired waitress and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Kirk of California and Jacqueline Warren of Utah; two sons, Darden Clifton Eure Jr. of the Philippines and Robert Daniel “Danny” Eure of Eure; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held on Monday at Cool Spring Baptist Church cemetery with the Rev. Roger Kiker officiating.
Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, is handling the arrangements.
