Betty Lou White Taylor, 79, died Thursday, June 25, 2009 at her home in Conway.
She had been preceded in death by her husband of 24 years, Edward Stuart “Buck” Taylor; her parents, R. Jennings White and Hettie Mae “Kitty” Cannon White; and a sister, Kathleen White Woodard.
A native of Northampton County, she was a caring homemaker who previously had worked as a Clerk with the United States Postal Service in Conway. She was a lifelong member of Conway Baptist Church. She was a devoted grandmother, affectionately known to her family, and especially to her grandchildren, as “Mimi.”
Survivors include a son, Edward Stuart Taylor Jr. and wife, Vicki, of Scottsdale, AZ; a daughter, Kitty Taylor Mann and husband, Steve, of Pendleton; grandchildren, Michelle Maher and husband, Brian, of Mesa, AZ, Shannon Cady and husband, Chris, of Charlotte, Justin Mann of Raleigh, Mariah McKellar and husband, Joe, of Greenville and Leigh Mann of Raleigh; great grandchildren, Madison Maher, Erin Maher, Caroline Cady and Nicholas Cady; a sister, Montie White Jenkins of Pendleton; a brother, R. Jennings White Jr. and wife, Anne, of Conway; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 28 in the Town of Conway Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. James Crocker and the Rev. James Hester presiding.
The family will receive friends at Bridgers Funeral Home, Inc. in Conway on Saturday, June 27 from 7-9 p.m. They have requested that in lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to share a memorial gift, please do so to the Roberts Chapel Church Building Fund.
