Virlie Sessoms

Virlie Mae Rankins Sessoms, 74, of East Main Street in Powellsville died Sunday, September 6, 2009 at her residence.
A native of Bertie County, she was a member of First Baptist Colerain Church in Colerain and a retired welder with Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in Middletown, CT.
Survivors include her husband, Willie D. Sessoms of Powellsville; a son, Robert James Overton Jr. of Middletown, CT; four daughters, Diane Sessoms and Iris Turner, both of Powellsville, Shirley Sessoms of Connecticut and Sheila Newsome of Raleigh; three brothers, Leroy Rankins of Colerain, Jessie Rankins and James Rankins, both of Ahoskie; three sisters, Annie Wilson of Ahoskie, Alice Privott of Colerain and Fannie Privott of Middletown, CT; 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A funeral will be held at First Baptist Colerain Church at 12 noon on Friday, September 11, 2009 with Rev. Mary Drake officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
