Wessie Harrell Taylor, 81, of Virginia Avenue, died Saturday, December 26, 2009 in Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk, Va.
Born in Chowan County, she was retired from Lipton Tea and a member of Beulah Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Taylor Atherton of Sunbury and Aurora, Colo.; a brother, John Harrell of Columbia, SC; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral was held Wednesday, Dec. 30 at Beulah Baptist Church. Rev. Joe Cockrell officiated. Burial followed in Damascus Christian Church Cemetery.
