Virginia Ricks

Virginia Rogers Ricks, 83, died Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Centara Louise Obici Hospital in Suffolk after a short illness.
A native of McColl, SC she worked with the United States Postal Service until she married and moved to Conway, NC.
There, besides being a caring wife and mother, she worked as a Bookkeeper with Milecraft and with Georgia Pacific. After her husband’s untimely death, she moved to Franklin and remained a loving mother, grandmother, and “great granny.”
She was a member of Englewood United Methodist Church in Rocky Mount.
Survivors include two daughters, Elaine R. Holland and husband, Bob, of Franklin, VA and Donna R. Lawrence and husband, Allen, of Enfield, NC; one son, Grady V. Ricks, Jr. and wife, Kim, of Seaboard; NC; four grandchildren, Allison Warren and husband, Chris, of Greenville, Jennifer M. Holland and husband, Bobby, of Franklin, VA, and SPC Grady C. Ricks and wife, Jackie, of Ft. Hood, TX; two great grandchildren, Tess and Hank Warren of Greenville, and one great grandchild that Chad and Jackie are expecting in August; three sisters, Marie Baucom and Ila Bea Hubbard of McColl, SC and Geraldine Scism of Bennettsville, SC; and a brother, William D. Rodgers of Deland, FL.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 9, 11:00 a.m. in Conway United Methodist Church, Conway, NC with burial following in the Town of Conway Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends in the church Social Hall following the Committal Service.
