SEABOARD – Details are still sketchy at this hour, but it appears from initial reports that there were no injuries in a motor vehicle accident involving a Northampton County Public Schools bus near here this morning.

The accident occurred on NC 186 near the old Gumberry High School.

According to Northampton Schools spokesperson Susie Johnson, the students onboard the bus were not injured and remained calm, even though both vehicles involved in the crash were damaged.

Johnson said that as of 7:50 a.m., North Carolina State Highway Patrol troopers were en route to the accident scene. Northampton County EMS units were on the scene and remain there as of this hour as a precautionary measure.
