Commissioner’s mother arrested

WINDSOR – Court proceedings are continuing for the mother of a Lewiston-Woodville Commissioner charged with larceny from the town.
Lula Mae Graham, 63, of Lewiston Woodville is charged with five counts of misdemeanor larceny after an investigation by the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation. She is the mother of Lewiston Commissioner Eddie Graham.
According to a spokesperson for the SBI, the agency arrested Lula Graham on May 19 and issued five charges of misdemeanor larceny based on incidents which occurred in March.
Graham was in court on June 17, but the case was continued until July 15. She stands charged with taking money from the town of Lewiston on five occasions. The total of the five amounts taken was reportedly $447, according to a report filed with the Bertie County Clerk of Superior Court.
