Willard H. Whitmeyer, age 85 of Ahoskie, died Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Roanoke Chowan Hospital.
Mr. Whitmeyer was born November 27, 1924 in Newark, New Jersey, a son of the late Willard Whitmeyer and Marie Snabel. He was an Army veteran serving during WWII and worked at Carolina Aluminum as Plant Engineer and was Treasurer for the Ahoskie Rescue Squad for several years.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Lillian Klubenspies Whitmeyer; and son, Eric Whitmeyer, both of Ahoskie.
He was predeceased by his brother, Herbert Whitmeyer.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 17, 2010 in the Ashley Memorial Chapel at Garrett-Jones Funeral Home in Ahoskie. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens. Rev. Robert May will officiate.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. at the Garrett-Jones Funeral Home in Ahoskie.
