David Chester Nagle

CHAPEL HILL – David Chester Nagle, 74, passed away unexpectedly October 5, 2010 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.
He was born October 15, 1935 in Benton Harbor, MI, son of the late Chester and Evelyn Nelson Nagle, and was a former resident of Wilmette, IL, for 43 years. He was active with Scout Troop 9 in Wilmette, where he served as Scoutmaster for several years and was a member of the Order of the Arrow. A U. S. Air Force veteran, Mr. Nagle served in Japan and Korea. He was retired from IBM after 33 years of service in the Chicago area. He attended Binkley Baptist Church in Chapel Hill.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 53 years, Ruth Whitley Nagle; two daughters, Julie Maranto (Tony) of Lake Bluff, IL, and Amy Nagle of Mundelein, IL; one son, Michael D. Nagle (Linda) of Salt Lake City, UT; three grandchildren, Melissa, Madeline, and Anthony Maranto; one sister, Nancy Widden (Rick) of Glendale, AZ; and one brother, Nelson Nagle (Janet) of Tempe, AZ; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Friday, October 15, 2010 at Buckhorn Baptist Church in Como, NC, with Rev. John Hackney officiating.
