We have lost one of our own.

Will McLawhorn, a Northampton County resident who was serving his country in the United States Army, was killed in the line of duty in Afghanistan. News of the incident came this weekend and was confirmed Monday morning. He is the son of the Rev. Willie and Diane McLawhorn of Conway.

McLawhorn was a graduate of Northeast Academy where he was a student-athlete who played basketball and baseball during his prep career. He was a particularly good baseball player and made the All-Roanoke-Chowan team his senior season.
