FORT WASHINGTON, Md. – Mr. Edward Plummer Webb, age 70 of Fort Washington, Md., a native of Bertie County, expired on Friday, February 18, 2011 at Specialty Hospital in Washington, DC.
Mr. Webb was a Navy Veteran and a retired Station Manager of the Metro Dept., in Washington, DC.
His survivors include one son, Michael Webb of San Diego, California; three daughters, Iris Newsome and Brenda Newsome (Grady), both of Ahoskie, and Lori W. Coates (Clinton) of Beltsville, MD; eight sisters, Mildred Williams of Merry Hill, Thelma Cooper and Margaret Parker, both of Windsor, Minnie Newsome and Letha Askew, both of Ahoskie, Iris Simmons of Roxobel and Dorothy Greene and Sarah Dixon, both of Norfolk, VA; three grandchildren, Markel Newsome, Caneisha Newsome and Christian Coates; three great grandchildren, Markel S. Newsome Jr., Jonathan R. Newsome and Caden Woods; and a special friend, Cathy L. Smith.
His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2011at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Ahoskie. Rev. Larry Cooper will be officiating. His interment will be at the Family Cemetery on Johnny Mitchell Road, Ahoskie.
