AHOSKIE – Motorists using one of busiest roads in and out of Ahoskie will have to find an alternate route on Monday (April 18).

The North Carolina Department of Transportation will close a portion of NC 561 west of Ahoskie in order to replace a damaged crossline pipe approximately one mile west of the Frazier’s Crossroads intersection (at the Ahoskie Inn).

NCDOT officials said that the work is expected to take only one day. The road closure, in both directions, is scheduled from 7:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Motorists can use NC 461 (from Union to St. John) to detour around the work site.
