WINDSOR – Another drug suspect finds himself behind bars.
Thursday night a tip led to the arrest of Anthony David “Tops” Williams, 33, of Morning Road in Windsor.
“We received a tip that led us to his whereabouts,” Bertie County Sheriff John Holley said. “He was located on the Woodard Road and arrested there.”
Williams was charged with two counts of trafficking Percocet pills, one count of possession with intent to sell and deliver Percocet, one count of felony possession of marijuana, one count of felony possession of cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine and maintaining a vehicle to keep a controlled substance.
He was placed in the Bertie-Martin Regional Jail under a $350,000 secured bond.
Sheriff Holley said the Bertie County Sheriff’s Office was aided by the Pitt County Drug Task Force, the State Bureau of Investigation and the Windsor Police Department in making the arrest. The group was led by Bertie County Sheriff’s Narcotics Agent Brian Edmondson.
“We appreciate the help we received in this case,” Sheriff Holley said. “It is always beneficial when we can work together in these situations.
“More arrests are coming,” he added. “We’re going to continue to do battle against drug dealers in this county. We’re going to continue to work together to get it done.”
