Nancy Dilday Wheeler

LASKER – Nancy Dilday Wheeler, age 83, of the Jesse Wheeler Road, Lasker, died Wednesday, March 28, 2012 in her home.
Mrs. Wheeler was born on April 21, 1928, in Hertford County, a daughter of the late Jesse and Mary Brinkley Dilday. She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church where she served as Sunday school teacher, and was involved in various church organizations, including United Methodist Women. Along with her late husband, Jesse S. Wheeler, Nancy was owner and operator of an agribusiness, Jesse Wheeler, Inc.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Patricia W. Boone and husband, Paul, of Jackson; her son, Billy Wheeler and his wife, Wendy, of Lasker; a sister, Mable Umphlette; and a brother, Howard Dilday, both of Murfreesboro. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Justin Boone, Laura Boone, Jessica Wheeler, Melissa Wheeler and Blake Wheeler and wife, Amanda.
A graveside celebration of life service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 30, 2012 at Lasker Cemetery with the Rev. Barry Stallings officiating. The family received friends at Sykes Funeral Service in Rich Square from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, and other times at Mrs. Wheeler’s home.
