WINDSOR – Filing begins Monday for those wishing to seek a seat on the Bertie County Board of Education.

Two of the five district seats will be on the ballot during the November General Election.

The seats are those in District 1 – currently held by Pamela Chamblee – and District 5 – currently held by board chair Gloria Lee.

Filing for the positions will begin at noon on Monday and will continue through Friday, July 6. Those wishing to fulfill the requirements for candidacy must file at the Bertie County Board of Elections office on Watson Street in Windsor.

Also, filing is held at exactly the same time for the position of Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor. That seat is currently held by John M. Griffin.
