WINTON — Filing opened for the Hertford County Board of Education on Friday at 12 noon.
The filing, which continues through 12 noon on Friday, Aug. 3, got started slowly with just one person filling out the necessary paperwork.
Incumbent board member J. Wendell Hall filed for another term on the board shortly after filing opened.
The other seat which will appear on the November ballot is held by board chairman David Shields.
Those wishing to seek office must file at the office of the Hertford County Board of Elections.
While filing started Friday for the two school board seats, it ended for the Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor. The only person filing for that seat was incumbent S. Pate Pierce.
