Post 102 begins playoffs

AHOSKIE – Ahoskie Post 102 will be where they wanted to be tonight (Thursday).
The senior American Legion team will be one of eight teams opening the post season as the third-seeded team will travel to Pitt County.
The first of a three-game series will be played at 7 p.m. at Pitt Community College.
The second game will be back in Ahoskie where Post 102 will host a game Friday at 7 p.m. at Hertford County High School.
If necessary, game three will be back in Pitt County. That game is scheduled for Saturday and first pitch would take place at 7 p.m.
The first round series features a matchup of the East versus the West in each of the playoff brackets.
The East number one is Rocky Mount and they will be squaring off with West number four New Bern. The East number two is Wilson and they will meet the third-seeded team in the West, which is Kinston.
The final matchup will be West number one Wayne County squaring off with East number four Edenton.
Ahoskie enters the playoffs after posting a 9-15 overall mark during the regular season and an 8-7 mark in the conference.
Post 102 set a record with nine wins in a season. They also set a record with eight conference wins. The third –place finish was also the best ever in a season.
