AHOSKIE – Local citizens are invited to become involved as the Roanoke-Chowan Community College Board of Trustees launches its search for a new president.
That search will include two public open forums at the college on Tuesday, Jan. 29. The forums will be facilitated by the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) presidential search consultant, Julie Golder Alion.
The public is encouraged to join the students, faculty, and staff in the Jernigan Building Auditorium at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. to discuss the qualities and qualifications needed for the new R-CCC President.
The ACCT is a non-profit educational organization of governing boards, representing more than 6,500 elected and appointed trustees who govern over 1,200 community, technical, and junior colleges in the United States and beyond. The services of the organization have been secured by the R-CCC Board of Trustees to assist with the national search for a new president.
According to R-CCC’s Board of Trustees Chairperson, Wendy Ruffin-Barnes, “ACCT has a long and successful history of conducting national presidential searches, and their expertise, assistance, and resources will be of great value to Roanoke-Chowan Community College as we embark on this journey together.”
Those who cannot attend the forums and would like to share opinions about the qualities and qualifications needed for the new President may contact ACCT consultants, Dr. Narcisa Polonio at narcisa_polonio@acct.org or Julie Golder Alion at jgolder@acct.org, 202-775-4474.
