Virginia D. McManus

MIDLAND, NC – Virginia Rae Draper McManus, 69 years of age, of Midland, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2013 at her residence. Wife, mother, and lover of Jesus, she passed peacefully at home with her family by her side.
Mrs. McManus was born March 5, 1944 in Rich Square, NC, to the late Thomas Randolph Draper and the late Elaine Johnson Draper Hargrove.
The funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 31 at the Evangel Worship Center, 484 Cabarrus Avenue, Concord, NC, and was officiated by the Rev. Thant McManus. A private burial followed.
Survivors include husband, Nathaniel James “Jim” McManus of Midland; son, Thant (Margo) McManus of Harrisburg, son, Joe (Leny) McManus of Concord; granddaughters, Kaylah Bernice and Adellah Reanne McManus, Elisabeth Elaine McManus, and Stephanie Lopez ; grandsons, Joseph McManus and Angelo Alvarez; and one sister, Lori Hargrove.
Virginia loved her savior and served Him faithfully. She fought the good fight and endured until the end. An example to all who knew her, she prayed fervently and believed with all her heart. A prayer warrior, a worshipper and a student of God’s Word, Virginia ministered to all who would receive the truth that God is good all of the time.
A wonderful homemaker, Virginia always made sure everyone knew that they were welcome. She was a skilled cook and was known far and wide for her array of fruit cobblers. She was an encourager and was much loved by all who knew her.
Virginia served as an officer for Asphalt Construction Company, a family business where she was in charge of business administration and was instrumental in the continued success of the company.
The family is saddened by their loss but heaven is a better place.
