AHOSKIE – Are you a fan of college football?
Looking for a way to spend an afternoon or evening in the company of tens of thousands of football fans like you?
Would you like to save some cash and attend a game for free?
If you answered yes to any or all of the above questions, then a new contest sponsored by Roanoke-Chowan Publications is right up your alley.
Beginning with today’s edition (see page 12) and published on Thursdays and Saturdays through Nov. 9, the winners of a sports trivia contest will receive two tickets to attend an East Carolina University football game at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.
The contest is simple. Look for the “Play & Win” ad in Thursday’s and Saturday’s edition, read a sports trivia question and call the RCP Sports Desk (252-332-7211; leave a message if needed) with your answer. The first caller with the correct answer scores two tickets to an upcoming ECU football game.
Note: Due to ECU’s unique early season schedule with back-to-back home games, the first two weeks of the contest will each have two winners (the first two callers with correct answers).
The contest is open to individuals ages 18-and-over. Winners are required to pick-up the tickets at the RCP office in Ahoskie and agree to have their names published.
In order, the contest winner(s) will receive tickets to the following ECU home games:
Thursday, Sept. 5 vs. FloridaAtlantic
Saturday, Sept. 14 vs. Virginia Tech
Saturday, Oct. 19 vs. Southern Miss
Saturday, Nov. 9 vs. Tulsa
Saturday, Nov. 16 vs. UAB
Game times will be announced by the ECU Department of Athletics.
2013 marks the 50th anniversary of Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. Tickets to this year’s home games feature the six head coaches to guide ECU’s fortunes on the gridiron since 1962.
