AHOSKIE – Ninety minutes will seem like a lifetime.

Roanoke-Chowan area residents need to prepare now for 90 minutes….all jammed packed with thrills, chills, and laughter….not to mention a wide array of animals when the circus comes to town.

The Walker International Circus will be at the Ahoskie Creek Recreational Complex on Saturday, Sept. 28 and Sunday, Sept. 29. There will be two shows each day – 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, and 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Other than the action under the “Big Top”, one of the best things about the Walker Circus is the fact that children, ages 14-and-under, are admitted free of charge. They must be accompanied by a paying adult. Each paying adult can bring in two children.

Free tickets for children are located at businesses throughout the R-C area.

Discounted adult tickets ($12 each if purchased by 12 noon on Friday, Sept. 27) are available at the Ahoskie Chamber of Commerce, Southern Bank of Ahoskie and the Ahoskie Town Hall. Those waiting to purchase an adult ticket on the day of the show will pay $15 each.

“This is good, clean family entertainment,” said Dan Joyner, Executive Vice President of the Ahoskie Chamber of Commerce, the host organization for the two-day event. “If you’ve never been to the circus, you’re missing a treat.”

The Ahoskie Creek Recreational Complex is located a few blocks behind Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital. Follow Memorial Drive west and turn left onto Edgewood Drive.

Walker Jr. has been both exotic animal trainer and performer for some of the most renowned animal acts in show business today. He has trained everything from a llama to a lion and is still regarded as one of the industries foremost elephant trainers. All of his now adult children have grown up to be successful performers in their own right. Each one makes their mark in their own special way, never veering far from what their father has taught them.

With his expertise, combined with that of his very capable partner, Catia Meluzzi, Walker International Events, Inc. brings to each community its own brand of history and accomplishment. All of this combined history and hard work comes together in a 90 minute shining spectacle that is the brand of Walker International Events, Inc.
