JACKSON – Two Northampton County brothers are under arrest and a third is sought in connection with an assault case here Monday.
Chuck Hasty, Captain of the Criminal Investigations unit of the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office, said deputies responded Monday to 9-1-1 calls from Urquhart Road in Jackson about people being assaulted and being held against their will.
When Deputy Marcel Goffington and Sgt. Jimmy Pair arrived on Urquhart Road they found several subjects standing in the road. One victim was bleeding from the head. That person was transported to the hospital by EMS for treatment of the injuries, according to Hasty.
The deputies then located two suspects at a residence and detained them for investigative reasons. During the investigation, Goffington learned there had been arguments that led to the victims being assaulted by three different suspects and being held in a room and not being allowed to leave the residence.
Based on that information, Goffington charged Maurice Gary, 35 of Jackson, with assault inflicting serious injury. He was jailed under a $5,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court later Monday. Also arrested was Tyelle D. Gary, 28 of Jackson. He was charged by Goffington with kidnapping and assault inflicting serious injury and was given a $55,000 bond. Tyelle Gary was also served with a non-support order for arrest and was given a $1,000 cash bond on that charge. He was also scheduled to appear in court later Monday.
Meanwhile, Northampton County Sheriff’s Office is still looking for the third brother, Jonathan Gary, 32 of Jackson. Goffington has obtained warrants on him for kidnapping, assault inflicting serious injury, and two counts each of false imprisonment and simple assault.
Those with information on Jonathan Gary’s location are urged to contact the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office at 252-534-2611.
