Irva L. Martin

CONWAY – Irva Liverman Martin, 83, died March 26, 2014 at UNC Health Care Systems – Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount.

A native of Northampton County she had been preceded in death by her husband, Luther Stanley Martin, Sr.; parents, Charles Irvin and Jessie Mae Whitley Liverman; grandson, Joshua Runfola; sisters, Sally Liverman Newsome and Sandra Liverman Brown; and brother, Charles Eston Liverman.

Mrs. Martin was a caring wife, mother and grandmother who had retired from the Northampton County School System working in the Cafeteria Program.  Also, she was a lifelong member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Milwaukee, NC and will be remembered by her family as fun-loving and a creator of great memories for them.

Survivors include two daughters, Donna Byrd (Gene) of Murfreesboro, and Susy Runfola (Ronnie) of Delta, Alabama; one son, Stanley Martin, Jr. (Mary-Lynn) of Burlington, Ontario, Canada; and grandchildren, Kim Byrd Roberts (James) of Conway, Jason Byrd (Elizabeth) of Winterville; Kyle, Samantha, and Hannah Martin of Burlington, Ontario, Canada and Benji, Carey, Nathan, Andrew, Jonathan, Phillip, Timmy, Ivan, Zeke, Becky, and Anna Runfola; numerous great grandchildren; sister, Shirley Liverman Askew (Jerry); and several nieces and nephews.

The family will be receiving friends at Bridgers Funeral Home, Inc., 605 West Main St., Conway, NC on Saturday, March 29, 2014 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and a funeral service for Mrs. Martin will be held Sunday, March 30, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Bethany United Methodist Church, Milwaukee, NC with the Rev. Suzanne Cobb presiding.  Burial will follow in the Milwaukee Cemetery.
