PENDLETON – A local man here faces a charge of false imprisonment after allegedly forcing his wife to remain in a room while he went to get money from an ATM to reportedly purchase drugs.

Kristopher Heath Davis, 29, was arrested in the case. He was given a $1,000 bond, which was posted, and a court date of April 14.

According to Northampton County Sheriff’s Captain Chuck Hasty, the alleged incident took place around mid afternoon on Friday, April 4 at a residence on Horne Road. NCSO Sgt. Jonathan Jenkins responded to that residence regarding a female being held against her will.

“Once Sgt. Jenkins arrived at the residence he spoke with the victim about the incident,” Hasty said. “The victim told Sgt. Jenkins that Kristopher Heath Davis made her stay in a room and would not let her out. The victim told Sgt. Jenkins that the only way she could get out was when Mr. Davis left the residence with her mother to get money from an ATM.”

The role the mother played in the incident is not clear as Hasty reported that she refused to cooperate with Jenkins during his investigation.

“We are unable to determine whether or not she (the mother) was forced to go with Mr. Davis because she refused to answer any questions about this incident,” Hasty stated.

Hasty added that it is also unclear if money was withdrawn by Davis from an ATM in this particular case.

Officers with the Murfreesboro Police Department located Davis after they heard (a ‘Be on the Lookout’ broadcast over law enforcement radio channels) the description of the vehicle he was operating. MPD officers detained Davis until Jenkins could arrive and take the suspect into custody.
