GARYSBURG – A Charlotte man is under arrest, charged with filing a false report and misuse of the 911 system.
Information from the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office revealed that Deputy Patrick James and Officer Mike Boone of the Gaston Police responded June 8 to a kidnapping call on Sandy Lane in Garysburg. There they found the alleged victim, 18-year-old Davidson Neville Henderson Jr. of Charlotte. Henderson claimed he was hit in the head while leaving his residence in Charlotte and woke up in Northampton County being removed from the trunk of a car.
Deputy Jacobs and Northampton Sheriff’s Investigator Bo Deloatch started looking into this claim and contacted the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department to assist with the investigation. During the investigation it was determined that Henderson was picked up and left Charlotte voluntarily with a friend from Northampton County and spent the weekend here.
Jacobs made the arrest on the previously stated charges. Henderson was jailed under a $3,000 bond and given a court date of July 7.
