WELDON – A third person has been arrested in the murder of 15-year-old Keyuon Garner, Halifax County Sheriff Wes Tripp reported.
Dalonte Lorin Bradley, 19 of Weldon, faces a count of murder and two counts of attempted first-degree murder.
As to Bradley’s alleged involvement in the August 4 murder that occurred on The Strip in what is known as South Weldon, the sheriff would only say he was charged with murder.
Tripp did say the sheriff’s office is working on leads that could show Garner’s murder is possibly tied to one that occurred in Garysburg on July 4.
Both the sheriff’s office and Weldon Police Department believe Garner’s murder is tied to the shooting death on the morning of August 5 of 2-year-old Dy’Uanna Anderson on Cedar Street in the Weldon town limits. That shooting also critically injured the child’s grandmother, 54-year-old Catherine Price, as the two lay sleeping in a bedroom.
Tripp has previously stated that Garner’s murder may be tied to a dispute at a local entertainment venue as well as one that occurred at a retail establishment in Roanoke Rapids.
Bradley was arrested at his home in Weldon and was jailed without the opportunity for bond pending a September 10 court date.
Meanwhile, Tripp said, investigators continue to look for Teddy Anderson Jr. in the Garner murder. It is believed he has fled the area to avoid apprehension.
