Masked gunmen rob restaurant

AHOSKIE – Ahoskie Police are investigating an alleged armed robbery that occurred at the downtown Domino’s Pizza restaurant located at 132 Main Street. The robbery is said to have taken place in the late night hours of Monday Sept. 29.
Police say two armed masked men entered the establishment through a side door at the corner of Catherine and Main streets around 11:30 p.m. The duo then later left on foot through the same entrance after seizing an undetermined amount of cash.
Police officers and a K-9 officer were called immediately to the scene to begin an investigation. The K-9 officer was able to pick up a scent and traced it to a back alley directly behind the business near Railroad Street.
Police say they have no further information to release at this time, but anyone who might have information on this incident are asked to call Lt. Jeremy Roberts at the Ahoskie Police Department at 332-5012.
