AHOSKIE – The Corporate Office at Roanoke Chowan Community Health Center (RCCHC) announced Dec. 3 that it has received $250,000 from Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) as part of funding from the Affordable Care Act.
RCCHC, like other community health centers in the nation that received funding from HRSA, will use these new funds to hire new mental health professionals, add mental health and substance use disorder health services, and employ integrated models of primary care.
“Today’s awards will give health centers the ability to improve access and care for individuals in need of mental health services,” said HRSA Administrator Mary K. Wakefield. “These funds support the Administration’s focus on improving recognition of and responding to the mental health needs of people nationwide.”
Awards given as part of the initiative were granted to 400 health centers across the nation, totaling to over $51.3 million in Affordable Care Act funding.
