AHOSKIE – Mary Virginia “Gini” Worthen McDonald, age 91, of Ahoskie, formerly of Georgia, passed away on February 11, 2015 at Southampton Memorial Hospital of Franklin, VA.

Mrs. McDonald was born on July 2, 1923 to the late Charles and Mary Worthen in Columbus, OH. Gini was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church of Ahoskie and retired as a teacher with the Marietta, GA school system.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Philip Le McDonald; her sisters, Evelyn and Elizabeth; and her brother, Charles.

Gini is survived by her daughter, Kyle M. Simonds and husband, Byron of Murfreesboro, NC; her sons, Stuart Allen McDonald and wife, Kunjulatta of Philadelphia, PA, Dana Kent McDonald of Marietta, GA, and Timothy Lee McDonald and wife, Carol of Kennesaw, GA; and eight grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at St. Thomas Episcopal Church of Ahoskie on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Jeff Douglas officiating.
