Conway suspect arrested

ROANOKE RAPIDS – On June 7 at around 10:30 p.m. the Roanoke Rapids Police Department received a call about a person soliciting money at the Cook Out parking lot, located on Julian R. Allsbrook Highway (US 158).
Officer Adam Salmon responded to investigate the incident. When Officer Salmon located the subject he attempted to walk away from the officer. Officer Salmon told the subject to stop several times but he continued to walk away from Officer Salmon.
Other officers arrived in the area and located the subject.
Junior Devon Williams, age 32 of Conway, was arrested and charged with resisting/delaying/obstructing an officer. A warrant check of Williams revealed an outstanding warrant from Hertford County for robbery with a dangerous weapon.
Williams was given a $25,500 bond and a July 10 court date.
