AHOSKIE – James Calvin Salisbury, age 75, of Ahoskie, passed away on July 2, 2015 at his home.

Mr. Salisbury was born on November 7, 1939 to Granville Orville and Elizabeth Rhodes in Enoch, WV.  James was retired from the US Navy after 22 years of active service.

Besides his parents, James was preceded in death by his brothers, Emory Salisbury, Alva Salisbury, Albert Salisbury, Kermit Salisbury, and Glen Salisbury; and his sisters, Delphia, Lucille, Erma, Elna, and Geneva.

James is survived by his loving wife, Teresa; his son, James Charles (Carol) Salisbury of Deerfield, FL; and two daughters, Melissa S. Gurliaccio and husband, Robert of Blountstown, FL, and Dawn S. Martinez and husband, Vince of Suffolk, VA.

The family will receive friends at Garrett Sykes Funeral Service of Ahoskie from 2:00 pm until 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2015.  The celebration of life service will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Paul Edwards officiating.
